Our Care at Home Team provides Outcome-Focused, Person-Centered care and support, Tailored to the Individual enabling them to enjoy an Independent Life in the comfort of their Own Home and around those They Love the Most.

  • Getting up in the morning
  • Assisting to bed at night
  • Help with getting washed and dressed
  • Bathing and showering
  • Assisting with cooking
  • Assistance to eat
  • Continence care and support
  • Help with medication
  • Collection of prescriptions
  • Help with household tasks and cleaning
  • Laundry support
  • Re-ablement support
  • Personal shopper or support to shop
  • Socialising and interesting company
  • Overnight stays
  • Respite to allow a carer some free time, giving peace of mind that their loved one is being well cared for
  • General welfare checks
  • Any other support needs can be discussed and we will endeavour to provide this.

Stranraer Skills Station believe it is important for all individuals to be able to Stay in their Own Environment, with their home comforts for as long as possible.

Our commitment is to promote their Independence and Tailor the Care and Support needs in the way that they choose.

Day Care Hubs & Support Services

We have three Day Care Support Hubs:

All of the Support Hubs, provide a Safe and Stimulating Environment to Socialise and Participate as you require, in a variety of activities.

Support can be accommodated for all adults over 16 years, we Support those with Additional or Specialist Needs and older adults; all support is tailored to their outcomes.

Each hub offers something different and all provide Small Groups, Comfortable and Cheerful settings, with Supportive and Friendly staff.

Individuals can be Supported to Develop or Maintain Life Skills:

  • Where we have ensured that the Day Care Hubs are Homely and Relaxing for Service Users.
  • Small group facilities for More Personalised Care and Support.
  • Fully functional Adapted Kitchen and Cooking facilities.
  • Access and use of various forms of Technology and the Internet.
  • Personal Care Needs, including Medication administration.
  • Disabled Toilet and Shower facilities.
  • Arts and Crafts.
  • Various Games, Activities aimed to Maintain or Develop Motor and/or Cognitive Functions and Skills.
  • Supported Access to the Local Community and participation in other Community-Based Activities.
  • Lunch provision.
  • After-hours use of facilities as required.

We can Tailor our Support to Meet your Needs, Wishes and Outcomes and this is always lead by you.

Our Head Office

Our Head Office is situated in the town centre of Stranraer, next to the Harbour at 30 Harbour Street, Stranraer DG9 7RD, and houses our Management team and Care Administration team.

An excellent resource with Offices, Reception, and Training room with a full package of IT facilities and its location is ideal for potential Service Users and their Families to pop-in and have a chat about Our Services.

A significant part of our team is Working in the Community, Supporting Service Users in their Own Homes.

Their tasks are many and rewarding and importantly enable people to remain as Independent as Possible whilst still Living in their Own Homes.

We also Support People to Live Independently in their own homes via our 24/7 Support Services.

We are delighted to say that we now have Three, separate Community Hubs throughout the town of Stranraer where our Service Users can access a Wide Range of Activities in the hub that best suits Their Needs and Desires.

Warm, Cosy Hubs and Professional Care and Support are offered with nutritious food, fun events, and access to all aspects of the Local Community served well with excellent transport links.

Our support services can be Utilised to Support people both within and out of the hubs or in their own homes, with access to our local and wider communities Supporting Activities of their Choice
